Basketball Game Preview: River View Black Bears vs. Sheridan Generals

River View is 0-9 against Sheridan since December of 2020 but things could change on Monday. The River View Black Bears will be playing at home against the Sheridan Generals at 7:15 p.m.

Last Wednesday, River View ended up a good deal behind West Muskingum and lost 44-30. While losing is never fun, the Black Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 529th, while the Tornadoes are ranked 263rd).

Meanwhile, Sheridan came tearing into Saturday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Little Muskies 53-31. The Generals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.

Sheridan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31 points. As for River View, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

River View was taken down by Sheridan 60-18 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point River View was down 41-9.
