Basketball Recap: Stockton Blackhawks vs. River Ridge Wildcats

Stockton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 59-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the River Ridge Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Blackhawks this season, with their most recent defeat being a 64-44 loss back in January.

River Ridge had a senior duo take command as Joe Winter went 9 for 15 to rack up 18 points and six rebounds and Mason Smith posted nine points along with six assists and six steals. Winter is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Sam Rife, who earned seven points and three steals.

Stockton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for River Ridge, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stockton will face off against Lena-Winslow at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for River Ridge, they will challenge Orangeville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
