Basketball Recap: Truman Mustangs vs. East New York Family Academy
The Truman Mustangs have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 63-53 to East New York Family Academy on Saturday. Truman has struggled against the recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
It was another big night for Arianna Mercado, who scored 29 points along with six assists and five rebounds for East New York Family Academy. That makes it five consecutive games in which Mercado has scored at least a third of East New York Family Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michel'le Little, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Truman's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3. As for East New York Family Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.
Truman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. East New York Family Academy's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the at 4:30 p.m. on February 7th.
