Volleyball Recap: Illinois Math & Science Academy Takes a Loss

Illinois Math & Science Academy lost against Wheaton Academy back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Titans fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1. The Titans' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Illinois Math & Science Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-12, 25-20.

Their offense was headlined by Ibrahim Bah and Nikhil Kodali, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Sergey Tyan and his 19 assists. Finally, Shrikar Dulum kept Illinois Math & Science Academy's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Illinois Math & Science Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Wheaton Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Illinois Math & Science Academy will square off against Timothy Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wheaton Academy, they will take on Montini Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
