Basketball Recap: Murrah Comes Up Short

The Murrah Mustangs lost 60-38 to the Kemper County Wildcats on Saturday.

Kemper County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jakayla Chamberlin out in front who almost dropped a triple-double with 17 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals. Those nine steals gave Chamberlin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Shariah Wooten, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards.

Murrah's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Murrah will take on Provine at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kemper County, they will square off against Morton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
