            Football Recap: Peru Tigers vs. Manchester Squires        
        
		
        
        
            While it was all tied up  14-14 at halftime, Peru was not quite Manchester's equal in the second half  on Friday. The  matchup between the Tigers and the Squires didn't end well, with the Tigers falling  35-21. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Squires apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in October of 2024.
 Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Ryne Babbs, who picked up 105 receiving yards and one  TD. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 61 yards.
 A big part of Manchester's  victory came down to the chemistry between  Cody Carroll and his top target  Reiss Gaerte. Carroll picked up 52 receiving yards and one  score while  Gaerte rushed for 78 yards and one  touchdown on only nine carries. That's the most  receiving yards  Carroll has posted since back in August.
Peru's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Manchester, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record  this season.
 Peru has already played their next game,  a  41-14  win against Northwestern on the 24th. As for Manchester, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  42-0  victory against Prairie Heights on the 24th.
