Basketball Recap: Groesbeck Finds Home Court Redemption Against Teague

There's no place like home for Groesbeck, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 69-56 victory over the Teague Lions on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Goats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

When it comes to explaining why Teague lost, don't look at Brayden Leija. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. Leija is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Grayson Dancer was another key player, putting up nine points and six rebounds.

Groesbeck has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Teague, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Groesbeck will look to defend their home court on December 30th against Troy at 11:00 a.m. As for Teague, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mexia at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
