Baseball Game Preview: Holy Cross Cougars vs. Spencer County Bears

The Holy Cross Cougars will square off against the Spencer County Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Holy Cross challenged Nelson County on Wednesday. Holy Cross took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Nelson County. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Holy Cross saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Basham, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That RBI was Basham's first of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Spencer County). They put the hurt on North Oldham with a sharp 16-6 win on Wednesday. Considering the Bears have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Holy Cross' defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Spencer County, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
