Soccer Recap: Bishop Alemany Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked St. Francis

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Loyola, Bishop Alemany was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They skirted past the St. Francis Golden Knights 2-1. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 458th, while the Golden Knights are ranked 223rd).

Bishop Alemany's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4-2 and their overall record up to 7-5-4. As for St. Francis, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6-3.

Bishop Alemany will venture away from home to challenge Harvard-Westlake at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Harvard-Westlake will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Bishop Alemany surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Francis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chaminade at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Chaminade's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
