League recap: Bishop Kearney climbs in standings with win

Bishop Kearney was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in Section 5 Livingston II. The Kings beat Warsaw 55-15 earlier in the week.

Caledonia-Mumford scaled the state rankings by moving to 49 from 86 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Raiders climbed the ranks as a result of beating Avon 35-13.

Mike McMullen and Peter Privitera gave Le Roy a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. McMullen threw for 115 yards and 3 touchdowns, while Privitera ran for 144 yards. Teammate Tom Kelso added to the ground attack by rushing for 43 yards.

McMullen and Privitera gave the Knights a balanced attack through the air and ground last week.

McMullen put up the best numbers in passing as Le Roy bested Letchworth. McMullen's favorite target this week was Kelso, who caught 3 passes for 41 yards.

Brandon Mynter was the best receiver in the league this week as the Braves fell to Caledonia-Mumford. Mynter tallied 2 receptions for 73 yards. Mitchell Wolfanger helped Avon's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 58 yards.

Joey Sotak provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Avon lost to John Walther's team. He completed 14 passes for 197 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 64 yards.

He was 10-16 with 1 interception.

Privitera was the best running back in Section 5 Livingston II this week.

Thanks to the talents of McMullen and Privitera, Brian Moran's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. McMullen is tops in the league in passing with 505 yards, while Privitera has rushed for 308 yards this season. Bishop Kearney's JO JO Gause leads the league in receiving yards with 332 on 17 catches.

At the moment, the Raiders are in second, while Eddie Long's team is in third.

Caledonia-Mumford made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,921 from 4,000. The improvement came about via a 35-13 victory over Andy Englert's team last week.
