Basketball Recap: Carnegie Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but Carnegie unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost 68-45 to the Alex Longhorns. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while the Longhorns are ranked 135th).

When it comes to explaining why Carnegie lost, don't look at Karlee Tohkofper. Despite the final result, she posted 26 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Tohkofper has posted since back in December of 2024. Kyleigh Bearbow also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Carnegie's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Alex, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.

Carnegie has already played their next game, a 52-36 defeat against Binger-Oney on the 4th. Alex has also already played their next matchup (against Ninnekah), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
