On Wednesday, Whitehall-Yearling earned a 42-33 victory over Varsity Opponent. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by exactly nine points.
Kyeona Myers continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 22 points and three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Whitehall-Yearling's points. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Woods, who posted seven points and three steals.
Whitehall-Yearling smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Columbus Academy posted their biggest win since February 1, 2024 on Tuesday. They breezed by Franklin Heights to the tune of 58-27.
Whitehall-Yearling better focus on containing Kyndal Singleton and Lianna Lopez as the pair were huge in Columbus Academy's win. Singleton almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds, while Lopez almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 17 boards. Singleton is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Kendall Owens was another key player, putting up 14 points and five rebounds.
Whitehall-Yearling is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Columbus Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Whitehall-Yearling has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Columbus Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.3 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
