Baseball Game Preview: Hatley Tigers vs. Amory Panthers

Hatley is 0-10 against Amory since February of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hatley gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Shannon with a sharp 14-3 win.

Koltan Brown made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Hatley is undefeated when Brown posts two or more runs, but 6-14 otherwise.

Hatley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shannon only posted an OBP of .280.

Nettleton typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Amory proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 4-1. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.

Hatley's record now sits at 9-14. As for Amory, their record is now 17-8.

Hatley suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Amory in their previous matchup back in February. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
