Baseball Recap: Walsh Jesuit Comes Up Short

Walsh Jesuit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 4-0 to the Troy Trojans.

Shawn Sullivan was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out 11 batters over 7.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in April.

At the plate, Walsh Jesuit saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zach Swiderski, who went 2-for-3 with one triple. That triple was Swiderski's first of the season.

Walsh Jesuit's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Troy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walsh Jesuit will host Medina at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Battling Bees will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Troy, they will welcome Beavercreek at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
