Baseball Recap: Hingham Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Quincy, Hingham was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Silver Lake Regional Lakers a 10-0 shutout. The Harbormen haven't had any issues with the Lakers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Hingham got a great performance from Henry Healey as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Healey also allowed no hits, which is notable because the Harbormen are undefeated when he allows at most two hits, but 6-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Hingham let Colin Garrity and Colman Donohue run wild. Garrity went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Donohue went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI Donohue has posted since back in March. Cole Snowden was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Hingham always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hingham's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Silver Lake Regional, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hingham will venture away from home to face off against Pembroke at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Silver Lake Regional, they will head out to take on North Quincy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
