Soccer Preview: Hononegah vs. Huntley        
        
		
             Hononegah hasn't had much luck against Huntley recently, but that could start to change  on Saturday. The Hononegah Indians are taking a road trip to  face off against the Huntley Red Raiders  at 11:30  a.m. Hononegah's last four  games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
 Hononegah is probably headed into the  matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Sycamore just ended the team's  three-game winning streak  on Thursday. Neither they nor the Spartans could gain the upper hand  so the two teams had to settle for  a  3-3 draw. Both teams had to tread carefully at times as the refs weren't afraid to hand out yellow cards:  Jack Deinhammer was handed one for the Indians, while the Spartans got theirs courtesy of  Henry Bumpus.

 Yandel Flores scored all three of Hononegah's goals,  bringing their combined season tally to six goals.
 Meanwhile, Huntley kept a clean sheet against McHenry  on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  1-0  victory over the Warriors. The score was all tied up  0-0 at the break, but the Red Raiders were the  better team in the second half.
 With that  draw, Hononegah's record moves to 5-3-1. As for Huntley,  the  win  got them back to even at 4-4-2.
 Hononegah came up short against Huntley in their previous meeting  back in September of 2023, falling  2-0. Can Hononegah avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
