Recap: Sioux County Warriors vs. Crawford Rams
The Sioux County Warriors struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Crawford Rams had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Sioux County took a hard 56-37 fall against Crawford. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Sioux County of the 49-33 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Sioux County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cy Hughson, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Jack Hunter was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crawford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carter Rudloff, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Rudloff is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 14 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Homan, who scored 18 points.
Sioux County has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight games, which lines up perfectly with their 5-15 record this season. As for Crawford, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Sioux County will be playing at home against Guernsey-Sunrise on Thursday. Sioux County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 272nd in Nebraska, while Guernsey-Sunrise is ranked 54th in Wyoming). As for Crawford, they will head out on the road to challenge Hay Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Hay Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Saturday.
