Baseball Game Preview: Hill Country Christian Rams vs. Bracken Christian Warriors

The Hill Country Christian Rams will challenge the Bracken Christian Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hill Country Christian has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with four straight losses, while Bracken Christian will come in with five straight victories.

Hill Country Christian lost 18-2 to Sacred Heart on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Bracken Christian hadn't done well against St. Paul recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Bracken Christian walked away with a 7-3 win over St. Paul.

Tristan Mahurin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has become a key player for Bracken Christian: the team is 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-8 otherwise. Mahurin was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Dalton Dresch was incredible, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Bracken Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 5-9 when he doesn't).

Hill Country Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Bracken Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.

Hill Country Christian suffered a grim 20-5 defeat to Bracken Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2019. Can Hill Country Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
