Volleyball Recap: Brookline Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Newton North

Brookline faced Newton North in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Warriors walked away with a 3-1 win over the Tigers. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

If you add up the scores from across all four sets (89-87) Brookline actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 11-25, 26-24, 25-20.

Emilie Ferdinand paced Brookline's offense, picking up 14 kills. Ferdinand got some help from Nora Mullen and her 23 assists. Molly Tipton controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Brookline's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Newton North, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 4-1.

Looking ahead, Brookline will head out on the road to challenge Framingham at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Newton North has already played their next contest (against Wakefield Memorial), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
