Baseball Recap: West Stanly Comes Up Short

After flying high against Mount Pleasant on Tuesday, West Stanly came back down to earth. The Colts fell just short of the Hickory Ridge Bulls by a score of 11-10 on Wednesday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Colts, who until this game were averaging 2.41 runs allowed.

West Stanly's defeat dropped their record down to 20-2. As for Hickory Ridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season.

Coincidentally, West Stanly and Hickory Ridge will both be playing Mount Pleasant the next time they take the field. The Bulls will head out to face the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Colts will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
