Basketball Recap: Juliana Krumpak Key Part of a Team Effort in Blue Devils Win

McDonald won the last time they faced Jackson-Milton and things went their way on Tuesday too. The McDonald Blue Devils came out on top against the Jackson-Milton Bluejays by a score of 52-43. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

McDonald's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Juliana Krumpak, who posted nine points along with eight assists and six boards. Gracie Callow was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Despite the loss, Jackson-Milton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Amani Yasin went 9 of 18 on her way to 19 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. That was a full 44.2% of Jackson-Milton's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nora Schwarten, who put up 12 points and five rebounds.

McDonald pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Jackson-Milton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McDonald will square off against Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. McDonald is facing Memorial at the right time seeing as Memorial is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Jackson-Milton, they will host Lowellville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
