Volleyball Recap: Marshfield Comes Up Short

Marshfield was the 2-0 winner over Newman when they last played one another back in August of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell just short of the Fighting Cardinals by a score of 2-1 on Friday.

Della Smith paced Marshfield's offense, picking up eight kills. Smith got some help from Natalie Delany and her nine assists. Paige Schlagenhaft controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Marshfield now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Newman, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Marshfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Houghton on the 29th. As for Newman, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Freedom on the 29th.
