Basketball Game Preview: Godinez Fundamental Grizzlies vs. Segerstrom Jaguars

The Godinez Fundamental Grizzlies and the Segerstrom Jaguars will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Wednesday, Godinez Fundamental took a blow against Irvine, falling 67-30. The game marked the Grizzlies' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Segerstrom entered their tilt with Aliso Niguel on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 53-42. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Jaguars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1047th, while the Wolverines are ranked 129th).

Segerstrom's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Godinez Fundamental, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

Godinez Fundamental beat Segerstrom 59-46 in their previous matchup back in November. The rematch might be a little tougher for Godinez Fundamental since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
