Softball Recap: Lone Star Comes Up Short

Lone Star fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against The Colony on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 10-9. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Rangers, who until this matchup were averaging four runs allowed.

Makala Wallace was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs, two stolen bases, and three runs while going 3-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Alex, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Lone Star's loss dropped their record down to 16-9-1. As for The Colony, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-13 record this season.

As of now, neither Lone Star nor The Colony have any future games scheduled.
