Basketball Recap: Cairo Takes a Loss

Cairo lost against Carbondale back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cairo Pilots were dealt a 74-24 loss at the hands of the Carbondale Terriers. The Pilots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cairo's record now sits at 3-12. As for Carbondale, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 13-8.

Cairo and Carbondale could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Cairo (ranked 557th) will meet Paducah Tilghman (ranked 178th) at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Similarly, Carbondale will face off against Nashville at 7:15 p.m. on January 27th down 157 places (178 vs. 21).
