Coronado came tearing into Tuesday's game with six straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Otay Ranch Mustangs by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Islanders, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Coronado had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-14, 25-11, 25-12.

Ashlynn Proctor paced Coronado's offense, picking up 23 kills. Proctor got some help from Brooke Proctor and her 36 assists. Brooke was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Coronado's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Otay Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Coronado will challenge Montgomery at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Otay Ranch, they will face off against Academy of Our Lady of Peace at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
