Volleyball Recap: Monday's Loss Ends Lutheran North's Winning Streak

Lutheran North lost against Port Huron back in August of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Mustangs fell 2-0 to the Red Hawks. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.

While Lutheran North ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Lutheran North still got an impressive performance from Victoria Burnham, who had 20 digs and two assists. Burnham has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last three times she's played.

With the loss, Lutheran North broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2. As for Port Huron, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Lutheran North and Port Huron will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Mustangs will face off against rival Shrine Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on September 3. Meanwhile, Port Huron is set to challenge their familiar foe Chippewa Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
