Harrison is a perfect 3-0 against Illiana Christian since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Raiders will host the Vikings at 5:30 p.m. Illiana Christian took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Harrison, who comes in off a win.
Harrison barely beat West Lafayette the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Raiders never let the Red Devils get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won nine in a row.
West Lafayette's batters probably weren't too happy with Bradi Odom, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 12 Ks (she gave up zero walks). Odom has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Becca Knight, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mallory Duell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Illiana Christian has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 4.06 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They lost 12-5 to Lowell. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Adeline Mulder was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Those triples were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia VanderWoude, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three runs.
Harrison's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Illiana Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
Harrison was able to grind out a solid win over Illiana Christian in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 8-4. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
