Basketball Recap: Paint Branch Comes Up Short

Paint Branch lost against Sherwood back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Paint Branch Panthers took a 51-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sherwood Warriors. The Panthers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Sherwood was led to victory by Avery Graham and Shannon Farr. Graham went 7 of 15 on her way to 17 points in addition to seven steals and five assists, while Farr posted 23 points. The dominant performance gave Graham a new career-high in points. Hailey Bonsby also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Paint Branch's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Sherwood, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Paint Branch Panthers challenge the Northwest Jaguars on Thursday. Paint Branch is facing Northwest at the right time seeing as Northwest is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Sherwood, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Poolesville at 7:15 p.m. Sherwood has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
