Softball Game Preview: Coal City Coalers vs. Reed-Custer Comets

For the second straight game, Coal City will face off against Reed-Custer. The Coalers will venture away from home to square off against the Comets at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Coal City took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They blew past Reed-Custer 10-4. The Coalers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Coal City got a massive performance out of Kaycee Graf, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Khloe Picard, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Coal City is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Reed-Custer, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.
