Volleyball Game Preview: Romeoville Spartans vs. Bolingbrook Raiders

Romeoville hasn't had much luck against Bolingbrook recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Spartans will square off against the Raiders at 11:00 p.m.

Romeoville is headed into Saturday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Plainfield South.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Plainfield South scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-21.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bolingbrook, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Plainfield East on Thursday.

Bolingbrook not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Plainfield East to exactly 18 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-18.

Bolingbrook is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-7 record this season. As for Romeoville, their loss dropped their record down to 4-24.

Romeoville came up short against Bolingbrook when the teams last played on May 1st, falling 2-0. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
