Basketball Recap: St. Augustine Catholic Takes a Loss

St. Augustine Catholic was the 42-36 winner over Desert Christian when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The St. Augustine Catholic Wolves took a 39-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Desert Christian Eagles. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, St. Augustine Catholic saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sevina Paz almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. Those nine rebounds gave Paz a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliyah Preciado, who posted five points and 11 boards.

St. Augustine Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Desert Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 10-14.

St. Augustine Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-32 loss against Tombstone on the 5th. As for Desert Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 48-30 defeat against Benson on the 6th.
