Basketball Game Preview: Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees vs. West Jessamine Colts

The Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees will take on the West Jessamine Colts at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Bethlehem turned things around against Washington County on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Commanders 70-21. Given the Eagles/Banshees' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Commanders are ranked 199th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, West Jessamine entered their tilt with Burgin on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They claimed a resounding 62-21 victory over the Bulldogs.

Bethlehem pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.1 points per game. As for West Jessamine, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Bethlehem came up short against West Jessamine in their previous matchup back in December of 2016, falling 64-51. Can Bethlehem avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
