Basketball Recap: Chaparral Takes a Loss

Chaparral and Cheney squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Chaparral had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Cheney Cardinals and fell 61-32. While losing is never fun, the Roadrunners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd in Kansas, while the Cardinals are ranked 88th in Kansas).

Chaparral has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12-1 record this season. Cheney pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Chaparral does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cheney, they will square off against Marysville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
