Baseball Game Preview: Weston Ranch Cougars vs. Chavez Titans

The Weston Ranch Cougars will head out to square off against the Chavez Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Weston Ranch has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Weston Ranch managed to slip by Ripon Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cougars came up short against the Knights on Saturday, falling 11-1. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Cougars couldn't push the score so high this time.

Edison hit Chavez with a eight-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Titans lost 15-4 to the Vikings. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Chavez saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Fierros, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Chavez's defeat dropped their record down to 2-21. As for Weston Ranch, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Everything went Weston Ranch's way against Chavez in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Weston Ranch made off with a 14-0 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
