If North Mesquite was riding high fresh off their 8-0 takedown of Samuell last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The North Mesquite Stallions fell just short of the Poteet Pirates by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The Stallions' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

They hit Poteet with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Gadiel Arreola, Steven Herrera, and Leo Huerta.

North Mesquite's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 12-4. As for Poteet, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.
