Seton LaSalle is preparing for their first  conference matchup of the season  on Friday. They will look to defend their home field  against the Burgettstown Blue Devils  at 4:00  p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Burgettstown will  square off against  a team with plenty of momentum: Seton LaSalle extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Rebels were the clear victors by  an  8-2 margin over Taylor Allderdice. That six run margin sets a new team best for the Rebels this season.

 Gianna Ferrieri made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  struck out six batters over  four innings while giving up just two earned runs off   three  hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks any time she's  pitched this season. She was even better at the plate,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with one  home run, two  triples,  and three  runs. Those  four  hits gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Kayla Pulkowski was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and one  double. Those  four  RBI gave  her a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Burgettstown never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past Freedom Area 15-0. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by ten  runs or more this season.
Like Seton LaSalle, Burgettstown also got a great game from a two-way player:  Brooklyn Robinson. On the mound, she  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   four  hits. Those  hits were  Robinson's first of the season. She was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-2.
 In other batting news,  Layla Sherman and  Raya Sentipal did most of the damage at the plate:  Sherman  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while  Sentipal  went 2-for-3 with four  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  run. That  stolen base was  Sentipal's first of the season.  Andi Midler was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
 Burgettstown was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .692. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .394 or higher in three consecutive  games.
 Seton LaSalle's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Burgettstown, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
 Seton LaSalle took their  win against Burgettstown  when the teams last played  back in May of 2019 by a conclusive  11-0 score. Do  the Rebels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
