Flag Football Game Preview: Fremd Vikings vs. Glenbrook South Titans

The Fremd Vikings will square off against the Glenbrook South Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Fremd is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.

Fremd is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 28-26 victory over Stevenson.

Lily Mayer was her usual excellent self, throwing for 349 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 112 yards. Those 349 passing yards gave her a new career-high. Fremd's leading receiver Asya Poyraz was Mayer's top target yet again, picking up 102 receiving yards and three scores.

Fremd didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jordan Farrell and Poyraz.

Meanwhile, Glenbrook South posted their closest win since September 5th on Thursday. They skirted past Elk Grove 20-18. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Titans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois flag football rankings (they are ranked third, while the Grenadiers are ranked 29th).

Fremd's record is now 17-4. As for Glenbrook South, their record now sits at 15-2.

Everything came up roses for Fremd against Glenbrook South in their previous matchup last Friday, as the team secured a 39-7 victory. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
