Baseball Game Preview: Adrian Maples vs. Ypsilanti Grizzlies

For the second straight game, Adrian will face off against Ypsilanti. The Maples are taking a road trip to challenge the Grizzlies at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Adrian has six straight victories, Ypsilanti has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Adrian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Ypsilanti an 18-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Maples, who have now won four games by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Gary Kemerer looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tyler Bruggeman was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Adrian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Julius Robichaud, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Adrian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in six consecutive matchups.

Adrian pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Ypsilanti, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
