Basketball Recap: Rushford-Peterson Piles Up the Points Against Dover-Eyota

Rushford-Peterson won the last time they faced Dover-Eyota and things went their way on Thursday too. The Rushford-Peterson Trojans really took it to the Dover-Eyota Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up an 84-55 victory. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Dover-Eyota saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mat Matejka posted 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Meyers, who earned nine points.

Rushford-Peterson's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34 points. As for Dover-Eyota, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Rushford-Peterson will face off against LeRoy-Ostrander at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Dover-Eyota, they will challenge Lewiston-Altura at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday.
