Basketball Recap: Stevens Comes Up Short

Stevens was the 63-56 winner over O'Gorman when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Stevens Raiders took a 49-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the O'Gorman Knights on Friday. The matchup marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Stevens' defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for O'Gorman, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Coming up, Stevens won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Brandon Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Brandon Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Stevens likes a good challenge. As for O'Gorman, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Rapid City Central at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in O'Gorman's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Rapid City Central has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
