Baseball Recap: Victory Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against Southern Prep Academy

While Victory Christian Academy put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Southern Prep Academy. The Victory Christian Academy Eagles were the clear victor by a 13-0 margin over the Southern Prep Academy Fighting Rangers. The Eagles have beaten the Fighting Rangers the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Fighting Rangers has come to flipping the script.

Raygen Langley made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Langley was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Easton Durden, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Dylan McGuire was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Victory Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .760. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive games.

Victory Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Southern Prep Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Victory Christian Academy will face off against Southern Christian at 4:00 p.m. on March 11th. Southern Prep Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Chambers Academy at 4:00 p.m. on March 17th. Chambers Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Southern Prep Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
