Football Recap: Boston Ashe's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Monte Vista Christian over San Lorenzo Valley

The Monte Vista Christian Mustangs lost to the San Lorenzo Valley Cougars at home by a 30-14 margin on Thursday. The game marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Monte Vista Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Boston Ashe, who picked up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Ashe is on a roll when it comes to receiving touchdowns, as he's now hauled in two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Evan Vessey was another key player, having thrown for 263 yards and two touchdowns.

This is the second loss in a row for Monte Vista Christian and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for San Lorenzo Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
