Baseball Game Preview: Valley Head Tigers vs. Ider Hornets

For the second straight game, Valley Head will face off against Ider. The Tigers will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Hornets at 4:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Valley Head came up short against Ider and fell 7-4.

For Ider's part, they got a big performance out of Taylor Kidwell, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Kidwell has posted since back in February. Axl Williams was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.2 runs over those games. As for Valley Head, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Valley Head has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .537.
