Volleyball Recap: Bruton Takes a Loss + How To Watch

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Bruton and Jamestown had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Panthers came up short against the Eagles on Monday, falling 3-0. Considering the last time the Panthers couldn't score was back in September, the team can't take the result too hard.

While Bruton was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-23, 25-13.

Kristen Goodwell paced Bruton's offense, picking up seven kills. Goodwell got some help from Annalise Wood and her 18 assists. Hadley Brooks controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Jamestown was led to victory by Kaitlyn Jones and Peyton Tilley. Jones had five aces and three digs, while Tilley had 16 assists and four digs. Those five aces gave Jones a new career-high. Kira Van Deusen also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Bruton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Jamestown, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-4.

Bruton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against New Kent on the 21st. As for Jamestown, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Grafton on the 21st.
