It was a proper cat-fight when Sumrall faced off against Newton County on Tuesday. The Bobcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The Bobcats' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Sumrall started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-20.

Newton County can attribute much of their success to Kolbie Wansley, who had nine digs and one assist. Shae Jimmie also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Sumrall's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Newton County, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Sumrall has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against West Jones on the 14th. As for Newton County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Northeast Jones on the 14th.
