Basketball Recap: Doherty Memorial Takes a Loss

Doherty Memorial lost against South back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Doherty Memorial Highlanders were dealt a 72-22 loss at the hands of the South Colonels. While losing is never fun, the Highlanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Colonels are ranked 20th).

Doherty Memorial now has a losing record of 6-7. As for South, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Coming up, Doherty Memorial will challenge Leominster at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. South has already played their next game (against Shrewsbury), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
