Softball Recap: Hazel Park Beats Clintondale for Their Fourth Straight Win

Hazel Park entered their tilt with Clintondale on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Dragons 13-7. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 23-7 back in April.

Madison Platt (2027) made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, Ryleigh Adams (2027) was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 11 matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Skinner (2029), who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with five stolen bases and one run.

Hazel Park hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive games.

Hazel Park pushed their record up to 10-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Clintondale, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
