Soccer Recap: Howland Wins High-Profile Contest Against Canfield

Howland faced Canfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Cardinals. This was a revenge game for Howland: when they faced off against Canfield on September 11th, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

Grady Hunt and George Liakaris scored both of Howland's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

The win (which was Howland's sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those six matches. As for Canfield, their loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-2.
