Preview: Northeast Eagles vs. Meade Mustangs
Northeast is 2-8 against Meade since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Northeast Eagles' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Meade Mustangs at 6:45 p.m. on December 22nd. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought game, but Northeast had to settle for a 70-68 defeat against Crofton. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Northeast has scored all season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Meade ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 77-74 win from a begrudging Mustangssquad. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Meade to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashton Turman, who scored 19 points. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. Keon Scott was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Meade, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
Northeast came up short against Meade in their previous meeting back in January, falling 67-60. Thankfully for Northeast, Shawn Jones (who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
